Munster Weekendz EP26 we're on location south of the river deep in the heart of St Kilda, the Sports Club to be precise, catching up with Matt Ryan, aka Matty Munster, writer, publisher, booker, promoter and recently now a radio DJ. Matt knows a fair bit about what's going on in town and especially down here by the beach. We chat zines, Matts zine the Munster Times, writing, the challenges and the rewards. Also, as part of a small team Matt has begun booking rock n roll gigs down here at the Sports Club. You may have been recently? With little else going on in St Kilda on a regular basis the work that Matt and others are putting in with these gigs is providing a quality option in the once thriving music scene down by the beach. Matt is also now on the radio, namely hosting Planet X on 3CR, jamming 60s garage and dirty rock n roll once a month. We also cover off on a few bands, and some general St Kilda items mushed together in no particular order; Shepparton Airplane, Fred Negro, Kim Volkman, Cosmic Psychos, Spitting Chips, Spunk, Sandy Dish, Split System, Misery Guts, Brody and the Grodies, Junkies Business and playing Bill Hicks on the radio.

Keep and eye out for gigs at the St Kilda Sports Club and if you see a copy of the Munster Times on your journeys around town, pick it up, take it to a quiet spot and read it cover to cover. And if you love the idea of writing your own zine, do it.
