Skyscraperz On Weekendz EP16 we're at the Gem with Skyscraper Stan chatting about the 4th single, Talk to me, from his up and coming new album, Those Were Days. The single was released the day of our catch up so i do my best to help support the official release and promotion, things im not very good at. Alas, we powered on and covered off, as per usual, on a wide range of interesting topics including but not limited to, County and folk, canceling people and domestic cats, pedantic drummers, Cheer Squad Records, Nick Cave and Taylor Swift, touring Australia, Classic Soul, Cash Savage, New Zealand, Penguins, Queenie(Ep 5!), Patrick Wilson, Peep Tempel, Fly my Pretties and Missing Teeth as well as The Legend of Fred Neil and his Dolphins.
Stan also, and this is half the reason i love this, introduced me to loads of artists and bands I'd never or only vaguely heard of, with Stan stamping his approval I've now got loads of cool new and old music to check out, here's a sample: Cold Heart Warm Hands, Karen Dalton, Glass Beams, Surprise Chef, Wilson Pickett, Duran Jones, St Paul and the Broken Bones, Gretta Ziller, Eaten By Dogs, Cherrywood and Brothers Grim & The Blue Murders.
Stan's new album, Those Were Days, will be out Valentines Day 2025 (a Friday)
Catch Stan and his band the Commission Flats at the Bergy bandroom November 29th (also a Friday)
Also, go listen to the latest single Talk to me on Spotify or Bandcamp, its sweet
